Fragments We Carry By Isabella D’Angelo Every moment we take with us becomes a fragment. A smell, a smile, a hug, a dance. Life doesn’t hand us memories in perfect order; it gives them to us in pieces, in flashes, in sensations that return when we least expect them. Sometimes it’s the way you wave to a stranger and they smile back. Sometimes it’s watching seniors dance with a joy so pure it feels like sunlight. Sometimes it’s a high school memory that drifts through your mind like a soft echo. Sometimes it’s seeing kid’s dancing in the rain and smiling at the pure and genuineness of it. And sometimes it’s something as simple as spilled coffee on a book a moment you’ve lived countless times before. These fragments don’t demand anything from us. They don’t ask us to do more, be more, fix more. They just arrive, and we let them. Because life isn’t meant to be controlled. It’s meant to be felt .
